Descriptions and images for featuring S. A. Weigle

Fact-based fiction

These are additional resources for creators and reviewers beyond what you can find on my about page, plus download links for high-resolution images.

They're a bit more formal, written (by me) in third-person, and only slightly fictitious when it comes to self-promotion.

Weigle is pronounced "why-gull"

(268 words)

S. A. Weigle grew up on a farm in a small town in southern Idaho. After college at the University of Idaho, he served five years in the U.S. Army before becoming an insurance claims handler, manager, and auditor.

He’s raised a family, traveled a fair amount, and read everything he could get his hands on for decades.

He was able to quit working during the pandemic. Living a solitary life with nothing better to do and plenty of time on his hands, he decided to write fiction as his next career.  After spending many years managing projects for a large corporation, he treated learning to write the same way (spreadsheets were involved).

He figured out how to plot a novel, develop compelling characters, and craft interesting prose by taking dozens of online courses one after another and reading a couple of books. The rest came from biting off far more than he’d anticipated by writing The Sacred Cycle—a book with a backstory of an era he knew next to nothing about, set in a country he’s briefly visited once, about characters from a wide variety of unfamiliar backgrounds.

He knew he’d chosen the perfect way to spend his days when re-reading his own work became his favorite way to procrastinate. He writes or works on publishing all day, every day, when he’s home—which he is 99% of the time.

He has concepts and outlines for dozens of stories and plans to spend the rest of his life telling all of them.

Medium author bio

(105 words)

S. A. Weigle lives a quiet life in the Pacific Northwest in Washington state, a short walk from Puget Sound. Introverted by nature, he favors solo activities such as hiking, long driving trips, and traveling alone.

His other interests include current events, science, popular culture, and social trends. Interested in everything, bored by nothing, he’s spent his entire life learning as much as he can about topics both complex and mundane.

Writing is his third or fourth career, depending on how you count, and the most-challenging—and enjoyable—one by far.

The Sacred Cycle is his first novel, with many more planned.
