Author Biographies

Full Author Biography

Length: 268 words

S. A. Weigle grew up on a farm in a small town in southern Idaho. After college at the University of Idaho, he served five years in the U.S. Army before becoming an insurance claims handler, manager, and auditor.

He’s raised a family, traveled a fair amount, and read everything he could get his hands on for decades.

He was able to quit working during the pandemic. Living a solitary life with nothing better to do and plenty of time on his hands, he decided to write fiction as his next career. After spending many years managing projects for a large corporation, he treated learning to write the same way.

He figured out how to plot a novel, develop compelling characters, and craft interesting prose by taking dozens of online courses one after another and reading widely about the craft.

The rest came from biting off far more than he anticipated by writing The Sacred Cycle, a novel with a historical and cultural background that required years of research.

He knew he had chosen the perfect way to spend his days when rereading his own work became his favorite way to procrastinate.

He writes or works on publishing all day, every day, when he is home, which is almost all of the time.

He has concepts and outlines for dozens of stories and plans to spend the rest of his life telling all of them.
